Grand Phoenix has announced a brand new 1/48 scale F3H-2N Demon kit, due for release around February, 2004.

The kit will comprise new-tool limited run, injection moulded plastic parts for the main components, resin detail parts from Aires, and Aeromaster decals.

Markings for this initial release will cover VF-122 on USS Ticonderoga, May 1957 and VF-124 on USS Lexington, May 1957.

A different version of this kit, the F3H-2M Demon, will be released at a later date.

I was surprised how big the model was on the sprues when I saw it today. It must have been a brute of an aircraft. Images of the plastic sprues may be seen below.
