The EA-18G "Growler" is the planned replacement for theEA-6B Prowler used in electronic warfare. it is based on the F/A 18F Super Hornet, and may be in use by 2009.

Inside the box are four sprues with plenty of parts to put together -155 including a few spares not used on this version.

The moldings look excellent, with very nice undercarriage detail, engraved panel lines, and from what I have looked at when fiddling with this kit, part fitment appears to be good as well.

Flaps and slats are moulded in one piece with the wing in the up position. The appropriate ordnance for the Growler variant are supplied as new mouldings.

It is especially pleasing to see that Italeri has addressed a couple of errors from their earlier F/A-18E and F Super Hornet kits, by deleting the speed brake on the upper rear fuselage and changing the shape of the top fuselage vents.

There are decals to do two different planes - your choice. These are Cartograf and look to be of good quality.

In summary, I would say this is a very nice kit, built out of the box, or for all you detail freaks, go crazy.

Recommended.

Thanks to Italeri for the review sample
